Bleah. It’s late and I have to get up early. Except for some cleanup, I’m done inking, but lettering (and thus the finished cover) will have to wait another day. I’m not about to rush things and do a crap job.

Haven’t had a chance to ink yet (I’ll give that a go tonight), but in the meantime, here’s a tiny preview of the pencils for the cover of issue two:

Another new character. Two more, actually. Some questions are answered, and life gets just a little more complicated for our eleven travellers in this next three-parter.

Firefox users may notice a “Returning Reader?” banner showing up at the top of the main page sometimes. This is a link to the highest-numbered page you’ve read so far (remembered as a cookie in your browser).

Right now it’s a Firefox-only thing, but I’ll try to get it going in other browsers as well. Let me know if you find it convenient.

Update: turns out the problem was that I was specifying application/javascript in the <script> tags rather than text/javascript. It should work on all the major browsers now.

Update: if you’ve got Firefox and Greasemonkey, the indefatigable ecmanaut has written a userscript which does roughly the same thing for most any comic (with some tweaking—it doesn’t work out-of-the-box for The Last Bus yet).

I was going to wait until I’d completely finished the second issue to start posting from it, but frankly I’m itching to get this show on the road again. So look out for next issue’s cover on Monday. Updates will be slow for a while still, but things should get faster as we progress.
